Cairnspecial in Germany

It was the first time I had judged in Germany and I was impressed by the overall quality of the Cairns and their free movement. It was a shame the weather was so hot, and because of this some of the Cairns did not show well. In cooler conditions the results may have been different.

I was very pleased with my dog line up, and any of the three males could have won. On another day the order of the results could change. “Glenmore´s Top Gun” greatly impressed me by his showmanship as he did not seem to mind the intense heat of the day. This dog took my eye as he entered the ring and did not fail to please me on the table. He is well balanced, free in movement, has a well proportioned head and is a great showman. All the necessities of a great show dog. I was pleased to see him go right to the end as RESBIS.

The bitches on the day I felt did not seem quite so good, but their coats let many of them down, and many of them felt the heat.

Generally most of the Cairns moved very well with free flowing strides. Mouths were excellent but there were a few with narrow jaws. Heads were strong and generally, temperament in all the dogs was excellent even in the heat.

Thank you all for the entry and hospitality.
